In February will be at Surface Design Show at London’s Business Design Centre for our 10th partnership with one of the UK’s leading architecture and design events.
The show provides an ideal opportunity to promote natural stone and our Stone Federation members to the 1000s of leading architects and interior designers visiting the show.
Alongside the companies that are involved with our Stone Knowledge Hub and Stone Tapestry, we are aware that a number of members visit the show. To help connect Stone Federation members at the event, on the opening night of the show we will be hosting a Members’ Networking Event around the Stone Knowledge Hub and the Stone Tapestry, right at the heart of the show.
This is open to all, and there is no need to book; just register for your free show pass here and join us on Tuesday, 3rd February at 6 pm at the Stone Knowledge Hub and Stone Tapestry located in the middle of the show’s middle floor.
Stone Knowledge Hub
Located at the heart of the show, the Stone Knowledge Hub helps architects and interior designers looking to find the right materials and products for their natural stone projects. Confirmed to exhibit in The Stone Knowledge Hub are:
A F Jones Interiors, Arcturus Stone, Brick From a Stone, Fila Surface Care Solutions, In Opera Group, and Welsh Slate.
This mix of UK and international stone suppliers and stonemasonry and fabrication experts will provide a fantastic snapshot into what Stone Federation and its members bring to projects.
Stone Tapestry
The Stone Tapestry is a unique natural stone showcase designed by leading architectural practice, Squire & Partners, in collaboration with Stone Federation.
The 2026 Stone Tapestry explores how understanding the process of the material’s formation can empower designers to fully utilise the versatility, natural beauty, and sustainability of natural stone.
The tapestry will feature both raw and processed stone, showcasing the beauty of texture and tone found in the material, allowing designers to go beyond just a sample piece and bring some of the raw beauty of a quarry to the Surface Design Show floor.
The Stone Tapestry is also seeking to shine a light on the UK’s own indigenous materials, as well as exploring stones from Europe. It aims to demonstrate to interior designers and architects that the variety of colours and textures available close to home removes the requirement to specify materials travelling many thousands of miles across the world.
The piece is a truly collaborative effort featuring the expertise and materials of a host of companies including The Stonemasonry Company, Albion Stone, Britannicus Stone, Hutton Stone Co., Stamford Stone, The Marble Collective and Welsh Slate.
Main Stage Seminar
On Wednesday, 4th February, 11.30 am, we will be hosting a Main Stage panel discussion, ‘Natural Stone: Understanding Process, Perfecting Design’.
This session will explore the original sustainable design material, natural stone and bring together a panel of experts to look at how understanding the organic processes that create this beautiful material can help designers deliver iconic stone projects.
Our panel will feature internationally recognized, award-winning Irish interior designer, Roisin Lafferty, partner at award-winning architecture and design practice Squire & Partners, Tim Gledstone, and one of the 2025 RIBA Rising Star winners and architect at Allies & Morrison, Giulliana Giorgi.
