We are delighted to welcome Michael Gorman of Johnsons Wellfield as our new Stone Federation President.
Michael started as a stonemason, gaining experience in companies such as Pawson Brothers and Woodkirk Stone back in the 1980’s and 90’s before joining Johnsons Wellfield in 2005 as sales and marketing manager and then progressing to various roles. He also had a passion to restore buildings, so took a year out project-managing in heritage contracting for Heritage Masonry and Conservation Limited.
His 30+ year career has spanned all aspects of architectural stone production from mineral extraction to project handover, with a keen focus on managing and meeting client expectations at every point of contact.
Michael provides design guidance, technical support, operational and commercial assistance, and has a proven track record for delivering results on projects with stone budgets up to £5m.
Michael has been an active and engaged part of Stone Federation for many years, and most recently as Chairman of the Landscape Forum, during which time he helped to steer the group through its involvement with the hugely significant BS 7533 development as well as launching some exciting events and initiatives for the landscape sector.
